João Brito

João Brito is a researcher affiliated with the Portugal Football School, the education and research unit of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). He is leading the Health and Performance Unit of the FPF, and acts as the exercise physiologist and S&C specialist of the Portuguese National Team. Within in the FPF since 2014, João has participated in the UEFA EURO2016, Rio Olympics 2016, FIFA World Cup 2018, UEFA Nations League 2019 and UEFA EURO2020.
Joao has previously worked as exercise physiologist in Aspetar – Qatar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital, in Doha, Qatar. He has a PhD in Sport Sciences from the University of Porto, and his research interests are focused on exercise physiology, injury prevention, strength and conditioning, and monitoring of training and game loads.
