Peter Krustrup

Peter Krustrup is Professor of Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Southern Denmark, Honorary Visiting Professor of Exeter University, United Kingdom, and Guest Professor at Shanghai University of Sport, China. He has published more than 300 peer-reviewed scientific articles and has published several books, including the Routledge book: Football as Medicine – Prescribing Football for Global Health Promotion. His research interests include the fitness and health effects of football and other sports, physical-tactical-technical match analyses, and fatigue, recovery, training and testing in elite football. He is a UEFA Pro-Licensed football coach and Fitness Coach for the Danish Women’s national team. He is 49 years old and lives in Frederikssund in Denmark. He has contributed to the development of the evidence-based football concepts “Football Fitness”, “11 for Health”, “FIT FIRST”, “Football for the Heart”, “FC Prostate” and “Football Fitness ABC (After Breast Cancer)”. He has established the Football is Medicine platform and is leading the FiM group of 225 researchers in more than 20 countries.
